Academic Changes

Leave of Absence

Application Period

  • Apply within the designated period before the semester starts (during February, during August)

How to apply

  • Kyungwoon University website (Integrated Information System) → Personalized Service → Undergraduate → Academic Information → Leave of Absence Application → Print the receipt (keep)

Notes

  • ① The regular leave period is 1 year (2 semesters), and you can only apply for regular leave during this period.
  • ② After completing the leave of absence, "cancellation" can only be done at the university.
  • ③ Military leave can be applied for within a week of the enlistment date.
  • ④ Those who are industrial personnel must submit the "Military Enlistment Fact Certificate" to be processed for leave.
  • ⑤ If enlisting more than a week after the semester starts, you must apply for regular leave first and then for military leave.
  • ⑥ If a student returns home from military enlistment, postpones enlistment, or cancels service, they must immediately apply to cancel their military leave with relevant documents (such as a copy of the return certificate).

Returning to School

Returning to school refers to students who have taken a leave of absence and wish to resume their studies after their leave period expires. They must apply for readmission within the registration period of the respective semester and receive approval from the dean. However, if the semesters are different, consider the order of the curriculum before returning. Students who take leave for military service and then get discharged must return or submit a leave cancellation application within 7 days of the discharge. Please note that they may be expelled. (You can return before 1/3 of the semester's teaching days have passed)

Notes

  • ① Undergraduate students in years 2, 3, and 4 must choose a major when applying to return.
  • ② The return process is completed after tuition fee payment confirmation.
  • ③ After completing the return application, you can normally apply for courses.

Expulsion, Withdrawal

Expulsion: Students corresponding to the following can be expelled.

  • ① Those who do not return after the leave period expires without a specific reason
  • ② Those who do not register within the designated period without a valid reason
  • ③ Those who are admitted to another university or have dual academic status
  • ④ Those who are expelled due to disciplinary actions

Withdrawal

  • Students wishing to withdraw must fill-out the required withdrawal application, go through the advisor and the department head, and submit it to the Academic Support Center.

Documents to Attach When Withdrawing

  • ① Guardian's seal certificate
  • ② Student's stamp, guardian's stamp
  • ③ Copy of the student's bankbook (preferably Daegu Bank) if there is a refundable amount
  • ④ Students with academic changes, as mentioned above, must return their student ID when withdrawing.

Notes When Withdrawing

  • In the case of withdrawal, the refund amount is determined according to the university tuition fee regulations.

Re-Admission

Candidates

  • Those who were expelled or have withdrawn and it has been a year since the expulsion

Selection Process

  • Selected through a set process at the beginning of each semester only when there is a vacancy
  • Students wishing to withdraw must fill-out the required withdrawal application, go through the advisor and the department head, and submit it to the Academic Support Center.

Notes

  • ① Those expelled due to disciplinary reasons or those exceeding the allowed academic years cannot be readmitted.
  • ② Those who meet the special conditions of Article 19 (Special Cases for Discharged Students) of the Higher Education Act Enforcement Ordinance and are recognized as having previous conditions may be allowed to readmit without considering the regular quota.
  • ③ Re-admission is determined within the capacity of the respective department, so it might not be granted.
  • ④ When readmitted, recognition of academic years will be limited to the academic years during previous enrollment.
